Our Learning Community is centred around six focal points aimed to develop a Personal understanding of God and how to live with God in relationship:
Focal Point 1
We aim to develop and live out a Christian Worldview, in line with the teachings of the Bible.
‘Everything is permissible but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good but the good of others. … So whatever you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.’
1 Corinthians 10: 23 & 24 & 31
Focal Point 2
We aim to learn more about God and how to develop a closer relationship with Him.
‘But seek His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well.’
Luke 12: 31
Understanding of life and how to live in community:
Focal Point 3
We aim to develop our abilities and talents to serve God and to value the many differences that exist within people.
‘There are different ways of serving but the same Lord is served. There are different abilities to perform service but the same God gives ability to everyone for their particular service.’
1 Corinthians 12: 5 & 6:
Focal Point 4
We aim to share each other’s joys and burdens.
‘Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs that it may benefit those who listen. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.’
Ephesians 4:29 & 32:
Using our talents to serve our community and the environment:
Focal Point 5
We desire to learn how to express Christian love.
‘A new commandment I give to you, Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’
John 13:34 & 35:
‘Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.’
James 2: 17
Make every effort to live in peace with all men.
Hebrew 12: 14
Focal Point 6
We seek to understand, as fully as possible, the integral nature of life.
‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.’ ‘God saw all he had made, and it was very good.’
Genesis 1:1 & 31
‘Lift your eyes to the heavens; who created all these? He who brings out the starry hosts one by one, and calls them each by name.’
Isaiah 40: 26
