Parents and Friends Committee
The Parents and Friends Committee (P&F) exists to serve the School Community in partnership with parents, teachers, students and Community groups to enhance and enrich the life of the School. Our P&F group serves the school by arranging social events, nurturing new families, giving classroom and special events support, providing fellowship and sponsorship for special projects through fundraising.
Parents are encouraged to become involved through a variety of ways, including becoming a committee member, assisting with hot lunches (with the food being prepared in the Hall kitchen) and other catering functions (sports day canteens, graduation suppers, morning teas), Triple C and their stalls, special events and fundraising initiatives.
P&F membership is open to the whole School Community. Meetings are held twice a Term in week 2 and week 8 at the school in the evenings. During Term 1 all interested parents meet at the AGM and a committee is voted in for the new school year.
If meetings are not your forte you can volunteer in many other ways
P&F events provide an important opportunity for the school community to fellowship with each other and form strong relationships. The P&F organise the following events:
- Hot lunches in Terms 2 and 3
- Canteen for sports days
- Suppers for graduations and musicals
- Morning tea for the first day of the school year
- Triple C - Coffee, Chat and Create
- Information coffee mornings each term.
- School Open day afternoon teas
- Yearly social events such as Quiz nights, lawn bowl evenings and other social events.
Once a week during Terms 2 and 3 The P&F run Hot Lunches from the School Home Economics kitchen with a group a volunteers.
We provide easy to prepare nutritional low fat hot lunches during the winter months to all students in the school. Our school follows the Government's Right Bite Food and Drink Spectrum/Guidelines and all lunches provided fall into the amber category. The menu can include Chicken or Cheeseburgers made with low fat healthy burger patties, lettuce and tomato on a sesame seed bun, Yumbos (melted ham and cheese in a burger bun), hotdogs and baked potatoes with ham, cheese, pineapple and sour cream.
Come join us fortnightly on Mondays from 9am to Catch up in the Art Room (Room 44). Create or just Chat over a Coffee and Cake with the Crew from our school Community. Triple C create beautiful but inexpensive gifts for Mothers Day, Fathers Day and Christmas stalls. The Children, especially the younger ones, have an opportunity to 'shop' for their special family member. Come along and share your Creative ideas or learn new ones. Not Creative you say? No worries, there are many jobs to be done for the various stalls OR just Come for the Company, Coffee and Cake. We need your Contribution.
