Update for Term 3

Dear TVCS Families,
As we continue to navigate through this next season of COVID-19, I am writing with
some reminders of how we can work together and use the measures in place to manage
these challenges.

SYMPTOMATIC CHILDREN
Children are not to attend school while unwell. This is to limit the spread of COVID-19
and other infections. You are encouraged to take your child for a PCR test if your child is
experiencing any symptoms. Even if your child returns a negative PCR test but continues
to experience a persistent cough and runny nose, they may only return to school when
they are well.
Those who return a positive COVID-19 test can return to school once they have
completed the isolation period as instructed by SA Health.

Masks
Surgical face masks are no longer mandated in schools. However, they are strongly
recommended to be worn for all adults (including visitors) as well as students from
Years 3 to 12. Face masks are an important physical barrier to help stop the spread of
COVID-19 and other winter illnesses, particularly when inside.

Notifications
Schools are no longer required to notify families of single cases of COVID-19 however we
will be in contact if there are 5 or more cases in a single class over a 1-week period.

Covid Safe Measures
· As a school, we remain vigilant in cleaning all classrooms and workspaces and
implementing social distancing guidelines. Bottles of hand sanitiser are available in
classrooms and shared spaces. Hand hygiene is carefully observed in all classrooms and
workspaces.
· Physical distancing measures are instituted wherever possible including outdoor
learning if the weather permits.
· We assess the risk of all excursions and camps prior to deciding to defer or proceed
with them. In some cases, camps and/or excursions are modified to suit the risk level.
· Assemblies and other school activities are modified to be covid safe including physical
distancing and reducing numbers (ie. For a year level instead of the entire primary
school).
· Students are asked to bring their own water bottles.
As guidelines change frequently, we ask that families refer to the SA Health website
directly for the latest updates on school safety, isolation periods, testing regimes and the
management of positive cases in the school community.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the
present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all
creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Please don’t hesitate to direct any queries you might have to our specific COVID hotline:

We would like to thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we journey
together. We appreciate your support in observing these important reminders and
helping us ensure the wellbeing of our community

Yours in Christ’s service,
