Starting school is a big step, both for children and for parents. There’s the excitement of a new uniform, a school bag packed and friendships waiting to be made. There are also questions: Will they feel comfortable? Will they make friends? Are they ready?
Our Foundation Mid-Year Intake gives children extra time to settle in and find their feet. Through a gradual transition, they build friendships, grow in confidence and develop the independence that helps them feel at home at school. The program will focus on the core skills:
This intake welcomes children who turn five between 1 May and 31 October and are ready to transition to school. Students spend their first two terms in a dedicated Foundation class, before continuing in Foundation for the following year. This provides six terms of Foundation before moving into Year 1.
The first term is FREE, with the second term charged at our Foundation year-level rate. Our enrolments team would love to help you explore whether a mid-year start is right for your child.
Transitioning well
A gradual transition supports success. Multiple orientation visits, a series of half-days and learning that builds progressively help children become comfortable with their teachers, classrooms and school routines.
What they will learn
Taught according to the Australian Curriculum, the program develops core literacy and numeracy skills alongside gross motor skills, play and resilience. Children join specialist classes in Music, Indonesian and Nature Education, enjoy access to our Library and receive a full school report after their first semester.
The environment
We've carefully planned our classroom setup and layout to accommodate both new programs and parents. Our commitment to providing an enriching environment extends to use of specialist spaces such as STEM, Sports Facilities, Nature Play and our Library.
