The Board

The board of the Torrens Valley Association of Christian Education is made up of people who share a deep commitment to the vision and mission of the school and who take on the responsibility of ensuring it is maintained and promoted.

Serving on a school Board is both a wonderful privilege and a great challenge. As a team, the Board shapes and directs the governing decisions of our school community while keeping the school accountable to its core vision, core purpose and core values.

Rigorous attention is given to the principles of effective governance, such as fiduciary responsibility and duty of care and diligence.  The Board are the legal owner of the school, with the responsibility to interpret the vision of the Association and convert it into policy and structures. As a governing body of a CEN (Christian Education National) school, the Board ensure that authentic Christian Education based on a solid Biblical Worldview remain central to school culture.

Governance

At Torrens Valley Christian School, we are a parent-governed school and a member of Christian Education National (CEN).

A distinctive of CEN schools is their governance model. We believe schools ought to be primarily accountable to the parent community they serve, rather than to a government, church, or denomination. It is to parents that God has given the responsibility of nurturing their children, and our governance structure reflects this belief.

The Association

Torrens Valley Christian School exists under an incorporated Association whose objective is to establish and maintain a school providing Christian education based on the principles of the Word of God.

The Association is responsible for the continuing existence of the School. It is made up of Christian parents and like-minded Christian people who believe that education is not neutral. Members share a conviction that the school should be an extension of the home and therefore actively promote a distinctly Christian worldview.

Association members elect the Board of Directors from among their ranks to govern the School, ensuring leadership remains aligned with the School’s vision, mission, and biblical foundation.
