NEW HORIZONS for Torrens Valley Christian School…

By Julie Prattis From the Principal 25/05/2022

Dear Families

I wanted to write to you personally following the announcement last week that I will retire as Principal at the end of the 2022 academic year and return to Canberra to be closer to family.

It has been a real joy to partner with you in Christian Education over the past ten years and I thank God for the privilege of knowing you and your family. I will hold these memories close for years to come.

There does come a time for change and our theme for the year of NEW HORIZONS seems extremely apt. I am so excited by all the future holds for our wonderful School and community.

NEW HORIZONS In Christ… Our Board are committed to honouring God and seeking his direction for the future. Under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, TVCS seeks to maintain an uncompromising biblical worldview and foster an authentic Christ-centred community focussed on partnerships between staff, students, parents and local churches. This is foundational to our ethos and will remain the strong platform on which all future decisions will be built.

NEW HORIZONS for Strong Transition… There is an exciting season ahead as we seek the next visionary leader for Torrens Valley Christian School. The School has implemented a carefully planned succession process, ensuring a strong transition and continuity for our student and wider community. I will be actively involved in the transition process, preparing the way for our next leader.

NEW HORIZONS for a successful future… It is exciting to see where God has brought us from…and where He is taking us to next! Underpinned by our strategic plan, 2022 and beyond will be an exciting time for our school as we actively explore development and growth opportunities and ensure the school is well-positioned to meet future challenges. Careful planning, combined with responsible stewardship, sound business practice and dependence on God will foster innovation and growth to support the achievement of long-term strategic targets.

NEW HORIZONS for me personally… While it is with a touch of sadness, I am looking forward to my retirement as I move closer to family and enjoy my grandchildren. I am also eagerly awaiting to see what God has ahead for the next exciting chapter in the life of the school. I know God has good things ahead!

As we move into this exciting new future together, it is my prayer that God will guide our community in the days ahead.

I look forward to speaking to you personally at the front entrance or waving to you from the carpark.
