Introducing Funday Friday!
Each Friday, students can purchase iceblocks during lunchtime for 50c each.
Funday Friday will be occuring in weeks 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 of Term 4.
Last week, School Sports SA held the 2020 Mountain Bike State Championship at O’Halloran Hill Recreation Park. There were a record 344 students participating in both team and individual events, representing schools from across the State. Cameron (6T) was proud to represent TVCS in the U13 boys.
With so many competitors, Cameron was competing against another 40+ students in his category and about 150 riders in total.
It was a great day out for all involved and Cameron looks forward to having another go next year.
The next two items on the Hot Lunches Menu are Chicken Burrito Bowl (Week 3) and Japanese Bento Box – Beef Teriyaki (Week 4). Yum!

Each year, schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books, and Australian authors and illustrators.
Book Week is in full swing, with students arriving yesterday in colourful and imaginative costumes! From Cat in the Hat’s Thing 1 and Thing 2, to the Cool Runnings Bobsled Team, the creativity of students (and parents) this year was truly amazing!
Tennis SA Schools Coordinator Shane Leatham, together with Hope Valley Tennis Club Coach Josh Crowe, presented all our Reception students with their very own Hot Shots tennis racquet!
The excitement and pleasure of receiving these complimentary racquets (an initiative of Tennis Australia and their sponsor ANZ bank) can be seen in the photos.
In Term 3, third year Adelaide University Archaeology student Joseph Sarunic delivered an entertaining and insightful 90 minute lecture about the History of France to students learning French in Industry.
Students got to try on some very fashionable chainmail!
This term, our Year 12 Food & Hospitality students put together some Instagram-worthy creations!
Their task was to design and prepare a grazing box suitable for a corporate lunch function, that celebrated modern Australian cuisine through the inclusion of native Australian ingredients.
The Year 7s recently held Newspaper Day, an annual event at TVCS, where they dressed up in business attire to write a newspaper for the school community.
Students chose from a wide range of jobs according to their strengths and wrote articles for News and Current Affairs.
This week is a special one for our year 12s – it is their final week of lessons!
We wish them all the best as they complete this milestone and prepare for exams.
This term we have introduced a new process for handling lost property.
Lost property will now be handled by the Front Office. This will mean that the lost property will no longer be stored in the area adjacent to the Uniform Shop.

In Uniform Shop News, new families are being fitted during term 4. Existing families should make preparations by making a checklist or by calling the shop with special requirements.

Looking for a Summer Sport? Road Runners Softball Club are looking for players to join their Junior and Senior teams on a Saturday. Training is held at Tilley Reserve.
The Dodgers are seeking T-Ball players for their U8 and U10 teams for our upcoming T-Ball program.
The program will start soon, with the first game on Friday, 30 October.
The Hope Valley Fifty Sixer’s have their next event coming up on Friday October 30.
From 9 November – 13 November, Camp Australia will be running Your Creative Kids week in service.
Your Creative Kids is filled with fun experiences that are centered around growing their creativity. Whether that is painting, drawing, drama, music, or any other creative expression, we want to amplify children’s voices and help them connect and express themselves.
Adding to Your Creative Kids will be The BIG Art & Expression Competition, giving children the chance to showcase their art to a national audience. Families will be provided with a downloadable template (printed copies also available in-service) for children to create a piece of art.
